![]() ![]() The Latter-day Saint has faith that the Mormon religion began on Septemin New York, when Joseph Smith had an encounter with God, in which an angel granted him with the "Book of Mormon." Many felt that Joseph Smith was a fraud and that it was impossible to have such an encounter with God. The first section of the book begins by examining the origins of the religion. This paper will summarize the three sections of the book and then analyze them in their entirety. ![]() The authors, Arrington and Bitton, divide the story up into three sections that make up the book. The book explains the rise of the Mormon religion up into the twentieth century.
